Lunch Menu

Healthy School logo

Here at Tenacres we strive to promote healthy eating.

We provide Reception and Key Stage 1 children with fruit at their morning break and Reception children with milk in the mornings.

Our curriculum covers all aspects of healthy living and we often have healthy events such as:

  • ‘Lunchtime crunch time’ when children are encouraged to bring a healthy lunchbox to school and prizes are awarded for the healthiest one;
  • 'Fruity Friday’ when children are encouraged to come to school dressed in fruity colours and take part in fruit snack making and tasting;
  • 'Feeling Fit Friday’ when the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle is promoted through healthy eating and fun fitness activities.

Our hot meals provider, Class Catering deliver delicious, healthy meals that young people want to eat, ensuring they are fuelled and focused to learn. Their menus have been awarded the Soil Associations ‘Food for Life’ Gold Catering Mark.

Meals are produced and freshly made using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and always include ‘help yourself’ fresh fruit and salad.

They offer great value at £2.30 a day and, if you wish, you can pay online using ‘payments for schools’, our electronic payments system.
