Hello all,

I know many of you have been asking for information regarding your child’s class teacher and arrangements for September.  Below are details of your child’s teacher and transition information.  The priority has been, where possible to ensure a consistency for the children.

Firstly we are saying “goodbye and good luck” to Miss Bush who is moving on to St Nicholas Primary from September.  We are also welcoming Miss Chloe Williams to Tenacres who is joining the teaching staff from September.

Reception

Hedgehogs (Mrs Poynton’s Class) will be having Mrs Dearden from September.

Squirrels (Miss Austin’s class) will be having Miss Williams from September.

Mrs Dearden and Miss Williams have already spent time in school meeting the children.  On Tuesday 30th June and Thursday 2nd July the Reception children will be spending the morning in their new Year 1 classrooms with their current teachers and their new teachers.  This will begin their transition process with further transition time happening over the last two weeks of the term.  I will update parents/carers of this nearer the time.

Year 1

Mrs Duffy and Mrs Hirst will move with their class and will remain their teachers in Year 2 – they will be Class 2DH.

Miss James will move with her class and will remain their teacher in Year 2 – they will be Class 2J.

On Tuesday 30th June and Thursday 2nd July the Year 1 children will be spending the morning in their new Year 2 classrooms with their teachers.

Year 2

Mrs Walters will move with her class and will remain their teacher in Year 3 – they will be Class 3W.

Mrs McEvilly will be the class teacher for 2B – the class will be 3M from September.

During the final two weeks teachers will organise some time in the Year 3 area for children to begin to get familiar with their new classrooms/areas.

Year 3

Miss Parkinson will move with her class and will remain their teacher in Year 4 – they will be Class 4P.

I am sorry to have to say Mrs McEvilly’s class have Mr Beacham again!! If he gets too cheeky I am relying on you, 4B to tell me.  I know this decision will be most welcomed by the children and parent/carers as Mr Beacham taught this class in both Years 1 and 2.

During the final two weeks teachers will organise some time in the Year 4 areas for children to begin to get familiar with their new classrooms.

At the current time the Government are finalising plans for the curriculum.  At Tenacres we already fully acknowledge this will need to be revised to address the disrupted year the children have had. In addition, myself and the staff strongly feel in order to ensure a smooth transition to their new year groups this also has to be addressed. Every decision that has been made over the past few months has had to be right for Tenacres, children staff and families and this will remain so, as always a continuing priority.  I will update you all on this over the coming weeks.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me via head@tenacres.worcs.sch.uk if needed.

With very best wishes

Miss Marshall
