The children returned to us last week and it was just fantastic! They have done us all very proud with settling back in to the routine of school life.  Here are a few reminders and updates for you all.

  • Every child has a Home/School diary with their P.E. and Forest school days.  On these days children are to wear their P.E./Forest School clothes, suitable for the weather.  Please bring wellies on the Forest School day to change in to for the session.
  • A reminder to use the ‘Daily Communication page’ in the Home/School diary .  These are checked every morning and it also means the teachers can get in to class quicker at the start of the day.
  • Letters will be sent home this week with the password information for Phonic Bug Club.  This is mainly for Reception, Years 1 and 2 children.  It is for children working on Phase 1 to Phase 5 of their phonics.  Children in Years 3 and 4 requiring this will also be given a password for them to access this.
  • From Monday 14th September children in Years 3 and 4 will be bringing two reading books home to be returned on the Friday of that week.  This enables timescales to be adhered to for the changing of ‘shared resources’.  Children will then bring two new books home on Monday 21st to be returned on Friday 25 th September and this pattern continues each week.
  • The whole school is following the ‘Recovery Curriculum’.  This is centred around ensuring the mental well being of each child, ensuring they feel safe in their environment after the past 6 months of lockdown, whilst assessing their next steps in learning.  Curriculum information for each Year Group will be sent home in the coming weeks once children’s next steps in learning have been assessed.
  • Reminder that Breakfast Club and Sneakers (After School) are both running normally.
  • Hot dinners are operating normally.  Please remember to book your child’s meal before 8am each day.  Booking meals in advance for the whole week is also an option.  Children in Years R, 1 and 2 are funded by the Government’s Universal Free School Meals programme (UFSM) which is different from Free School Meals which all children may be entitled to and is based on your family’s income (FSM).
  • If you think you are entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) visit the Worcestershire County Council website.
  • Lisa, our Family Support Worker remains based at the school each Thursday to offer support and advice if required.  You can book an appointment with her via Miss Marshall/Class teachers, you can also email Miss Marshall head@tenacres.worcs.sch.uk or phone the school office.
