Well as you can see from just a few photos it has been a very festive week here at Tenacres.  The children have enjoyed a Christmas dinner served to them by the Teachers and Teaching Assistants, many craft activities, class parties, a Santa visit plus more.

On Thursday we had a ‘virtual assembly’ and celebrated our Pupils of the Term which are voted for by their classmates.  I spoke to all the children and praised them for all they have achieved this term with behaviour, learning and as always impeccable “pleases” and “thank yous”.  As I type this I can hear music, laughter and fun throughout the school with the class parties.

I would like to thank all our parents/carers for their on-going support in what has been, at times a challenging term with constant updates regarding the Governments COVID restrictions. I am proud of the fact we have not had to close a class/bubble since September.  I hope this continues in the new year, however I feel there will be further challenges after the next few weeks. I hope the whole school community remains safe.

We look forward to 2021 and are optimistic some normality will be restored at some point!  I would like to thank the staff for constantly adapting and planning for the children which, I am sure you appreciate has needed to be so carefully structured to support their mental well-being whilst working towards ‘closing the gaps’ from the lockdown in March.  This remains the focus when we return in January. I would also like to thank the Office staff, Cleaners, Lunchtime Supervisors and Mick our Site Manager as all have contributed to the success of this term.

The return of the children is currently scheduled for Wednesday January 6th.  If this changes due to Government decisions I will use the blog to update you all and as usual send a text to alert you to any updates.  Please do take a look at the blog because this will contain information you will need to know.

On behalf of  myself, the staff and Governors  we wish you all a safe, relaxing Christmas and very best wishes for the New Year.

Miss Marshall
