Full return from Monday 8th March 2021
Hello all,
We are delighted and excited to welcome our children back on Monday 8th March as we have missed them all and whilst technology is a great tool, nothing can replicate school. The focus on the children’s return is to ensure a smooth transition back to school life. There will be gaps in learning for all children but initially our absolute priority is to focus on our children’s social and emotional well being. We will be maintaining ‘Feel good Fridays’ with a range of activities to support these approaches.
As far as routines and expectations, these are as before:
- Rigorous hygiene procedures in place throughout the school.
- Cleaning routines throughout the school day.
- Children will remain in their class bubbles.
- Limiting items brought in from home i.e. children are to only bring a bookbag that will fit in their individual classroom tray and a lunchbox/drink.
- Drop of and pick up times remain the same. Designated playgrounds are still in place:
- Reception – own playground
- Years 1/2- lower playground
- Years 3/4 – Upper playground
- A ‘one way’ system remains in place for Reception drop off/pick up and again we encourage parent/carers to only access the playgrounds needed.
- Parent/Carers to wear masks at drop off and pick up times.
- We urge you all to remember social distancing and respect each other’s space.
- Attendance expectations resume.
- This term staff have started to complete COVID ‘Lateral Flow Device’ (LFD) twice a week. Please see the blog post from 28th January 2021 for more information.
Uniform is to be worn on Monday 8th March by all pupils and P.E./Forest School days will be confirmed via text by Monday 8th March. Appropriate clothing for these days is to be worn to school on these days, as before.
Hot dinners resume from Monday 8th March and please order these in the usual way.
Breakfast Club and Sneakers After School Care: These will also restart from Monday 8th March. Regarding Breakfast Club we are requesting if you arrive early, before the 8am start, please wait in your car. The foyer is no longer to be used as a waiting area.
