Headteacher's Welcome

Ms Marshall, Headteacher.

Myself, staff and governors are delighted to welcome you to the Tenacres First School website.

Tenacres is a special place where the staff are dedicated to providing a stimulating, creative environment in which everyone feels valued and safe, ideas can flourish and pupils can realise their full potential.

Our mission statement reflects the inclusive nature of our practices. Our vision and purpose is for 'every child to have a happy, safe and nurturing environment, developing the whole child intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically and by ensuring a love of learning, whilst preparing them for life after Tenacres.'

The school has a very good reputation for its nurturing ethos, high standards of behaviour and achievement. Our latest Ofsted Inspection (May 2016) was very successful. One statement from our last Report reads: 'Staff have created a nurturing and supportive culture where every pupil is valued and their individual needs are well catered for'. Another statement recognises: 'pupils do particularly well and attain high standards by the time they leave'. 'Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the good quality of education and care their children receive'.

It is an exciting time at Tenacres, with the recent redevelopment of our outdoor spaces and complete internal refurbishment. In addition, we are developing our creative curriculum in all year groups, which continues to provide the children with exciting learning opportunities.

As shown in the photographs throughout this website, we have excellent facilities to support effective teaching and learning, including a superb computing suite, specialist music room, jungle library and two Forest School sites.

This website only gives you a flavour of life at Tenacres. To enable you to judge for yourselves the happy and purposeful atmosphere of our school, we would encourage you to arrange a visit when we will be happy to show you round.

I look forward to meeting you.
